My favorite cousin, Leon, turned 65 last Saturday. He plans to retire on Oct. 1. I’m not sure how it’s going to go for him. Leon grew up on the family farm in southern Minnesota, an only child. And, like his parents, he has worked hard, whether it was tending livestock, plowing the fields, or at his job as senior mechanic at the canning factory where he’s been employed for much of his life.
